Location
Emmanuel Baptist Theological Seminary is located on the grounds and in the buildings of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Newington, Connecticut — just outside of Hartford. All around our town are sites of great historic and spiritual interest. Twenty minutes from our campus is where "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" was preached — the sermon credited with launching the Great Awakening. We are about an hour and a half from the site of D.L. Moody's birthplace, his New England ministry, and the burial site of Moody and his wife. David Brainerd is buried just an hour from our campus. Northampton, where Jonathan Edwards pastored for 25 years and where he wrote of the Great Awakening, is but an hour from our home. Plymouth Plantation — the docking site of the Mayflower and their subsequent settlement — Boston, New York City, the Yankee Candle Factory, numerous American authors' homes, and other wonderful sites are but a couple of hours from EBTS.
